- Net purchases are the eligible purchase transactions minus returns, refunds, other credits, or disputed, unauthorized, illegal, or fraudulent charges. The primary cardholder must have an active qualifying SECU deposit account (certain accounts are excluded) with a monthly direct deposit totaling $500 or more, in aggregate in order to qualify for bonus rewards, otherwise your cash back on purchases will be limited to 1.5% base rewards. You must then meet these direct deposit qualifications in at least two out of the preceding three calendar months to move back to the 2% cash back (1.5% base rewards plus 0.5% bonus rewards) qualifier. You will automatically qualify for bonus rewards for the first three months following account opening. Additional restrictions apply. Cash rewards expire in four (4) years. Certain purchase transactions are not eligible for rewards. Refer to the Cash Rewards Terms and Conditions Supplement for further details.
- Earn 3 points per dollar of net purchases in the gasoline and electric vehicle (EV) charging category, 2 points per dollar of net purchases in the restaurant category, and 1.5 points per dollar of net purchases in all other categories. "Net purchases" means the eligible purchase transactions minus returns, refunds, other credits, or disputed, unauthorized, illegal, or fraudulent charges. Transactions are placed into points categories based on merchant codes assigned by Visa. Even though a merchant or some of the items that it sells may appear to fit within a points category, the merchant may not have a merchant code in that category. When this occurs, purchases with that merchant will not qualify for points offers on purchases in that category. Certain restrictions and limitations may apply for travel redemptions. Points rewards expire in five (5) years. Certain purchase transactions are not eligible for rewards. Refer to the Points Rewards Terms and Conditions Supplement for more details.
- Redeem rewards for cash back to your SECU Checking or Share Account, or redeem for SECU credit card statement credits. All redemptions must be $25 or greater (2,500 points or $25 reward dollars). Statement credits will reduce the balance on your account but will not count as payments.
