What is a routing number?

A routing number is a nine-digit identification code assigned to financial institutions in the United States. Routing numbers help identify financial institutions when moving money between them.

  • Facilitates money movement

    Routing numbers can be used to make electronic deposits and withdrawals to and from your accounts through Automated Clearing House (ACH) and wire transfer.

  • Other names for routing numbers

    Routing numbers are sometimes referred to as ABA numbers or routing transit numbers (RTNs).

Electronic deposits and withdrawals

You can authorize ACH debits and credits to and from your Credit Union account to do things like receive your direct deposit or pay utility bills. Review the information below for sending and receiving ACH entries to and from your Credit Union accounts.
