Things to know

SECU organizes free community shred days as a safe and secure way to help members and non-members prevent valuable information from getting into the wrong hands.

  • Securely destroy documents

SECU shred events are intended for securely destroying paper documents. There is no need to remove staples, paperclips, or folders from your documents. Bins, boxes, and containers used to transport documents will be returned.

  • Personal documents only

Shred days are for personal documents only. Business or commercial shredding is not allowed.

  • Non-permitted items

Non-paper items such as batteries and electronics are not permitted. They are hazardous materials and may damage the shred truck.

Shred day schedule

SECU schedules shredding events at various branch locations to run for three hours. Events may end early if the shred truck reaches capacity. Parking lot layout and traffic flow will vary by location. SECU staff members are onsite to assist.

There are no more shred day events scheduled for this year. They will return in 2025.
