Wire Transfer

Wire transfers are a fast and efficient way to send money, both in the U.S. and around the world.1 Visit your local branch or contact Member Services Support to process a wire transfer.

Sending wire transfers

You can wire money with cash, a cashier’s check or money order, or from your Checking, Share, Money Market Share, or CashPoints® Global Accounts.

What to know before you request a wire transfer:

    SECU Wire Transfers usually can’t be reversed or canceled once sent; always confirm your wiring instructions before making a transfer request.

Receiving wire transfers

There’s no fee to receive wire deposits in your account. The following information2 is needed to receive a wire transfer:

  • Name as it appears on your account

  • Account number where funds should be deposited

  • SECU’s routing number: 253177049

  • SECU’s receiving address: State Employees’ Credit Union (State ECU Raleigh), Raleigh NC, 27605

  • (Optional) SECU’s non-monetary SWIFT code: SMCUUS31

Recurring wire transfers

If you often send wires to the same recipient or beneficiary account, you can use a recurring wire number to process requests through Member Access.

To set up a recurring wire number:
  • Send an initial transfer by contacting your local branch or Member Services Support.

  • Request to establish a recurring wire number.

  • Use this number in the future to initiate transfers through Member Access.
