Wire Transfer

Wire transfers are a fast and efficient way to send money, both in the U.S. and around the world.1 Visit your local branch or contact our 24/7 Member Services to process a wire transfer.

Sending Wire Transfers

You can wire money with cash, from your Checking, Share, Money Market Share or CashPoints® Global account, or from a cashier’s check or money order.

  • $10 domestic transfer fee
  • $25 international transfer fee
Wire transfers usually can’t be reversed or canceled once sent, so always confirm your wiring instructions before making a transfer request.

It can take up to 2 business days to process a request.2 Once processed, all wire transfers are considered final.

Receiving Wire Transfers

There’s no fee to receive wire deposits in your account. The following information2 is needed to receive a wire transfer:

  • Name as appears on your account
  • Account number where funds should be deposited
  • SECU’s ABA Routing Number – 253177049
  • SECU’s receiving address – State Employees’ Credit Union (State ECU Raleigh), Raleigh NC, 27605
  • (Optional) SECU’s Non-Monetary SWIFT code – SMCUUS31
Contact our 24/7 Member Services at (888) 732-8562 if you have questions about wiring instructions.

Recurring Wire Transfers

If you often send wires to the same recipient/beneficiary account, you can use a recurring wire number to process requests through Member Access.

To set up the recurring wire number, send an initial transfer by contacting your local branch or our 24/7 Member Services, and request to establish a recurring wire number. You can use this number in the future to initiate transfers through Member Access.

1 We do not process wire transfers to or from Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria or the Crimea Region of Ukraine.
2 Additional information or review may be required to complete incoming and outgoing transfers, which could delay processing times.
